Our IT System Administration Team aims to ensure a seamless operation of our technological infrastructure including the maintenance and optimisation of our digital ecosystem.

 

Position

We are looking for an IT Technical Support person to provide IT Service Desk support to the Company staff in all aspects.

The position gives to the successful candidate the opportunity to develop professionally as an IT System Administrator.

The successful candidate will join the System Administration (SysAdmin) Team (comprised of 3 persons) and will mainly report to the SysAdmin Team Lead.

  • Location: Sint-Stevens-Woluwe (Brussels Area)
  • Start date: As of April 2024

 

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Provide IT Service Desk support in all aspects of the users’ hardware, software, and networking needs (installation, repair, troubleshooting, inventory, user support and training)
  • Implement the IT infrastructure for Staff (e.g. on/offboarding)
  • Maintain and follow up the IT infrastructure inventory.

 

After a period of training / mentoring:

  • Manage a heterogeneous IT infrastructure (Linux, FreeBSD, macOS and Windows workstations and servers)
  • Support a variety of Open Source technologies (XEN, Docker, Zimbra, Samba, Asterisk, OpenZFS, Nagios, ownCloud)
  • Maintain the network infrastructure
  • Implement the procurement procedures
  • Responsible for backup and disaster recovery procedures
  • Support on-site and remotely the IT infrastructure in our office located in the Netherlands.

 

Skills and Experience

  • Highly motivated and eager to learn
  • Good communication in English, both spoken and written
  • Customer/user service mindset
  • Familiarity with Linux, Windows and MacOS

Good Knowledge of:

  • TCP/IP network administration/troubleshooting
  • Scripting language (e.g. Bash, Python, PHP)
  • Free and Open Source Software (FOSS), including Postfix, BIND, ISC DHCP, NFS, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Apache, NGINX.
